Sad Christmas song, but really cute video by my friends’ Oakland-based band Foxtails Brigade. I just want to put her in my pocket!

You nominated, we chose, half based on popular vote, the other half based on preference, but these are all your choices! Now it’s up to you to make the final choice, and that will be our next cover song in the next few shows to come. We’ll probably also release it as a limited free download! Voting ends October 1, 2011.
AJAPOPFILMS is not only an up-and-coming video outlet for really great music videos and photos for The Hundred Days, Fans of Jimmy Century, and The Glowing Stars, but founder Angelo Ibanez is also my best friend.
He’s spent a year on this music video for our friends Seeking Empire and it premiered today. Please take a few minutes to check it out and rate it. It takes a lot to create something you believe in and put it out there for the world. Not everyone can do it.
Proud of you, Angelo! <3

A huge news day for us!
In late August, we were interviewed by our two local publications, San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Bay Guardian. Today, they’re both published and in print! But don’t worry, they’re also online. Check them out at the links below! If you’re in the area, be sure to grab a copy!

A week or so ago, Matt Payne and I did an interview with San Francisco Bay Guardian about The Glowing Stars. Here’s the feature online! You can also find it in print locally in San Francisco. Very happy with this. :)
“Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen is one of my favorite songs of all time, and it was such a blast covering it with Matt Payne for The Glowing Stars. We played this song since our first show with Anamanaguchi and Peelander-Z at the DNA Lounge on April 7, 2011, and we’re playing it one last time at our next show at the Japantown Peace Plaza in San Francisco on September 4.
Not sure what song we’ll cover next, but I’ll sure miss playing this one! Look out for a free mp3 download of our cover around September 4!
It takes a lot of effort for us to put together a good cover, and we enjoyed sharing our cover of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” on our Quest Coast tour (and recording it for our special edition release of Anything Past That).
We’re planning on retiring this particular cover after we play it at the Convergence Festival in Japantown on September 4, so for a very limited time (ONE DAY!) we’ll be making the recording a FREE DOWNLOAD on our Bandcamp page! Be sure to join our mailing list (on the right sidebar) and follow us onTwitter and Facebook to get the link! We’ll release it closer to Convergence.
Earlier this week, Lizzie was interviewed by The Joystiq Show about The Glowing Stars for their music episode. It went live today, so check it out!
